We went down to Mississippi this weekend to tell Kenny and Donna and the Castles family. Kyle and I both took off work on Friday so we could get to Tupelo early and tell Kenny and Donna while no one was there. Unfortunately, when we got there, Kenny was gone and Hunter was there with Donna working on homework. Once Kenny got home, Kyle texted Hunter and asked him to leave the house and get Caitlyn out, too. Caitlyn fell asleep for a few minutes, and by the time Hunter could get her up and convinced to run to the store, Nanny came over. We were just out of luck for telling them on Friday, so we got up early on Saturday morning to tell them. Kenny and Donna are never up later than around 7:30 a.m., but that morning they woke up at 9:00 a.m. At that point, we just had to wait for Caitlyn to leave and tell them as soon as she was out of the house!
Donna expected that we were going to tell her we were pregnant, so she wasn’t totally shocked, but they were both really excited. We gave them each a recordable book, so they can record their voice reading a story to the baby, since they live 4 hours away.
Donna then helped us tell the rest of the family that day.
We gave Caitlyn her birthday present, and the 2nd thing she opened was a bib that says “I love my aunt!”
We gave Nanny and Mamaw & Big Daddy framed pictures of the ultrasound.
That same day we also told Pam and Sandy & Greg.
